Below is a comprehensive list of the data point types (also known as tag types) supported by ei3 and our data collection services.

Data Point ID Data Point Type Description
Process data (FB) A basic and default process data feedback data point. It is used to collect most data from the device (PLC) on the machine.
Machine speed (FB) This point is used to collect the machine’s run (line) speed during standard operation. It is the actual speed of the machine, and is used across web services such as the Machine Overview/Mobile Portal/API applications.
Production material total count delta This point tracks the change (delta) in total material count on the machine during its operation time. This is a requirement for OEE calculations – make sure the correct scale type is set for Delta value.
Production material good count delta This point tracks the change (delta) in good material count on the machine during its operation time. This is a requirement for OEE calculations – make sure the correct scale type is set for Delta value.
Machine speed alt. (FB) This point tracks an optional, alternate speed measured in a different unit listed in unit of data point.
Production material total count alt. delta This point tracks an optional, alternate total material delta measured in a different unit listed in unit of data point.
Production material good count alt. delta This point tracks an optional, alternate good material delta measured in a different unit listed in unit of data point.
Production material reject count delta This point tracks the change (delta) in rejected or bad material count on the machine during its operation time.
Production material reject count alt. delta This point tracks an optional, alternate waste material delta measured in a different unit listed in unit of data point.
Recipe data (SP) Value will be used as recipe point in Recipe Management.
Machine speed (SP) Machine speed set point, used in recipe management.
Machine speed (SP) alt. Alternate machine speed set point, used in recipe management.
Downtime code This point is used for automatic downtime tracking. If this code is configured, and the PLC Value (set in Downtime Tracking) matches this value, the code will automatically assign to the machine.
Downtime notes Automatically inserts downtime note when certain downtime codes are applied.
Product name For machines with Job Management, this point tracks the current product name of the job running on the machine.
Product description For machines with Job Management, this point tracks the current product description of the job running on the machine.
Recipe name For machines with Recipe Management, this point tracks the current name of the recipe running on the machine.
Recipe description For machines with Recipe Management, this point tracks the current description of the recipe running on the machine.
Job Name / Number For machines with Job Management, this point tracks the current job name or number of the job running on the machine.
Job Description For machines with Job Management, this point tracks the current job description of the job running on the machine.
Customer name For machines with Job Management, this point tracks the current customer name of the job running on the machine.
Customer description For machines with Job Management, this point tracks the current customer description of the job running on the machine.
Target run rate For machines with Job Management, this point tracks the target run speed of the job running on the machine. This will affect OEE values for the machine and the job run.
Current Recipe ID For machines with Recipe Management, this point tracks the current recipe ID for the recipe running on the machine.
Requested Recipe Name For machines with Recipe Management, this point is used for when the controls will indicate the next recipe to be loaded.
Operation Name For machines with Job Management, this point tracks the current operation name of the job running on the machine.
Operation Description For machines with Job Management, this point tracks the current operation description of the job running on the machine.
Pass Number Used in the Quality application – as machines go through the same operation multiple times, this data point is used to indicate the pass number of the current operation.
Tool Name For machines with Job Management, this point tracks the current tool name in use for the job running on the machine.
Machine State Number indicating machine state related to production, Stopped, Running, Idle etc. as defined in the machine (varies by product line) configuration table. Used in downtime tracking, OEE uptime calculations, and machine state diagrams.
Recipe Load Bit This point is used to indicate if a recipe loads successfully. Used to coordinate the loading of recipes.
Master Unit Of Production Allows controls to specify unique ID for major prod. unit (rolls, pallets, etc).
Rewind Spindle 1 Diameter This point is used to indicate the diameter of 1st rewind spindle on machines.
Rewind Spindle 1 Length This point is used to indicate the length of 1st rewind spindle on machines.
Rewind Spindle 2 Diameter This point is used to indicate the diameter of 2nd rewind spindle on machines.
Rewind Spindle 2 Length This point is used to indicate the length of 2nd rewind spindle on machines.
Unwind Spindle 1 Diameter This point is used to indicate the diameter of 1st unwind spindle on machines.
Unwind Spindle 1 Length This point is used to indicate the length of 1st unwind spindle on machines.
Unwind Spindle 2 Diameter This point is used to indicate the diameter of 2nd unwind spindle on machines.
Unwind Spindle 2 Length This point is used to indicate the length of 2nd unwind spindle on machines.
Splice Count Delta This point counts the number of splices, used to determine roll change.
Machine Max Speed Used to track the machine max speed value.
Collection Trigger This point is used to track any instance of a trigger value used in trigger-based data collection.
